More than 2.7 million votes counted, Palestinian-led parties overtake Bennett’s Together alliance at third place

Israel's Central Elections Committee announced that more than 2.7 million ballots have been counted, with Benjamin Netanyahu's bloc still leading. His party slipped from 57 seats to 56, around 20.8 percent of valid votes, while Gadi Eisenkot's opposition Yashar party is also competing for position.

Israel's Knesset is elected by nationwide proportional representation, so each party's vote share determines its seats. Benjamin Netanyahu has been a dominant figure in Israeli politics for many years, and the contest has centred largely on him.
