Oman mufti: Muslim candidates' wins in US Congress elections are good news for a setback to injustice

Oman ·

Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalili, Oman's grand mufti, said in a statement on Friday that the win of Muslim candidates in the US midterm congressional elections was good news for a setback to injustice. He expressed hope that this would strengthen human justice and bring change to US policies. He pointed to recent events in the United States, including controversy over Muslim participation in the midterms and the election of some of them.

Oman's grand mufti is the country's senior official religious authority and issues public statements on social and political matters. Muslim Americans have taken a growing part in US elections in recent years.
