Retribution sentence carried out against a man who deliberately killed a citizen in Makkah

Makkah, Saudi Arabia ·

The Interior Ministry said it carried out a qisas sentence against Diyaa bin Abdulrahim bin Mohammed al-Sayed, convicted of intentionally killing Khalid bin Kamal al-Ghamdi by running him down with a vehicle. The ministry said security agencies had arrested the perpetrator.

Saudi Arabia's judicial system applies Islamic law, under which qisas allows a punishment equivalent to a killing, with the victim's family holding the right to demand it.
