New extension for the Lebanese parliament after 2028?

A political activist said the aim of the Lebanese Forces in asking to shorten the current extended parliamentary term is to close the door on any further extension beyond 2028. Talk has circulated about a further two-year extension that would make the extended term four years in total.

Lebanon's parliament is normally elected for four-year terms, but in recent years it has extended its own mandate by its own decision.
