Siege of Taiz deepens humanitarian crisis and threatens to halt health facilities Taiz, Yemen · 2026-10-28 03:04
Around two million people in the Yemeni city of Taiz are living under a tight siege that has caused acute shortages of food and fuel. The situation threatens to halt operations at hospitals and other health facilities.
Yemen has been in conflict since 2014 between the Houthi movement (Ansar Allah), which holds Sanaa and much of the north, and the internationally recognised government, backed by a Saudi-led coalition. Taiz, one of the country's largest cities, has seen ongoing fighting between the two sides.
