Ali Faisal on the 109th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration: the Balfour Declaration is a British-American colonial crime against the Palestinian people

Palestine ·

Ali Faisal, deputy chairman of the Palestinian National Council and deputy secretary-general of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, made the statement on the anniversary. He described the declaration as a British-American colonial war crime that led to the creation of a settler-colonial Israeli state, which he said carried out colonialism, ethnic cleansing and racial discrimination on Palestinian land.

The Balfour Declaration was a 1917 British government letter backing a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine, then under Ottoman rule. Palestinians widely regard it as the starting point of the conflict over the land.
