Electricity interconnection project between Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Turkey awaits studies

Jordan ·

Turkish talks are underway on a line to carry electricity from Saudi Arabia through Jordan and Syria to Turkey. The National Electric Power Company said no official proposal or joint feasibility studies exist yet, and it expects a study on strengthening the Jordanian-Syrian link to be completed by the end of 2027.

Electricity grids linked across Arab borders allow countries to exchange power, and Jordan's grid is already connected to Syria's. Projects like this usually need technical and financial studies before approval.
