Iran says the Strait of Hormuz will not reopen before Washington responds to Iran's seven conditions

Mohsen Rezaei, the supreme leader's representative on Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said in a post on his official X account that the US response to Iran's demands was not convincing. He made reopening the strait conditional on Washington fully meeting Iran's seven conditions.

The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow waterway between Iran and Oman's Musandam peninsula and a major route for oil tankers leaving the Gulf.
