General Security organises 23rd phase of organised return of Syrian displaced people

Masnaa, Lebanon ·

The General Security Directorate organised the 23rd phase of the Lebanese government's plan for the organised return of Syrian displaced people from Lebanon to Syria. The operation began at the gathering point at the Rashid Karami International Fair in Tripoli and passed through the General Security border centre in Masnaa. A statement from the directorate's media affairs office said the operation was carried out in cooperation with international bodies.

Lebanon hosts a large number of Syrian refugees who fled the conflict in Syria since 2011, and it has one of the highest refugee populations relative to its size. The Lebanese government has sought for years to organise the return of displaced people, and the General Security Directorate carries out this plan.
