UAE's next strategy: shifting from exporting energy to exporting artificial intelligence

United Arab Emirates ·

Peng Xiao, chief executive of G42, said the UAE is seeking to strengthen its position in the global artificial intelligence sector by drawing on its computing capacity and advanced infrastructure. According to CNN, he said the country's ambition is to move from an energy exporter to an exporter of intelligence, as global demand for AI technologies grows.

G42 is an artificial intelligence company based in Abu Dhabi, and the UAE has spent years trying to diversify its economy beyond oil and gas exports.
