Israel demolishes gunmen’s homes in West Bank operation that has displaced thousands

Hebron, Palestine ·

The demolitions target the homes of gunmen accused of taking part in an attack on Israeli soldiers, and they have reportedly displaced more than 3,000 Palestinians in Hebron. The measures are part of a large-scale military operation ordered by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The West Bank is Palestinian territory that Israel has occupied since the 1967 war, and home demolitions there have long been a source of dispute between Israelis and Palestinians. Hebron is the largest Palestinian city in the West Bank.
