Hebrew report: Yair Lapid is a likely candidate for the next Knesset speaker

Channel 12 reported that the clear move, backed by a broad parliamentary majority, would be removing Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, leaving open who would replace him. The channel said Yair Lapid's name is being mentioned as a possible candidate for the post.

Yair Lapid, a former prime minister who leads Israel's parliamentary opposition, is a longtime political figure in Israel. The Knesset speaker presides over sessions of the 120-seat parliament and is chosen from among its members.
