Egypt fears escalation in US-Iran war would be more destructive, foreign minister says Iran · 2026-10-31 08:02
The remarks were made at a security summit in Bahrain. The minister's concern is that any further escalation in the US-Iran conflict could have a more destructive impact.
Relations between the United States and Iran have been strained for decades, over Iran's nuclear programme and its role in regional conflicts. Egypt, a major Arab state bordering Israel and Gaza, has generally called for de-escalation across the region.
