Oil prices rise again after US strike on Qeshm island

Brent crude futures rose 48 cents, or 0.5%, to $105.25 a barrel by 01:04 GMT, and West Texas Intermediate also gained in early Asian trade. The rise followed a report that the United States had attacked Iran's Qeshm island, raising fears of escalation in a conflict that has run for eight months and of long-lasting disruption to Middle East oil supplies.

Qeshm is Iran's largest island, lying in the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow waterway through which a large share of the world's seaborne oil passes.
