Washington reassesses the status of its bases in the Middle East and around the world due to the war with Iran

The US Department of War is reviewing how its forces are deployed around the world, especially in the Middle East, in light of dense Iranian ballistic missile, cruise missile and drone attacks. According to the report, multilayered air defences at these bases could not stop every missile and drone, with at least 10 percent of the projectiles in each combined attack getting through.

The United States maintains military bases across the Gulf and the wider Middle East, and Iran has long been one of Washington's main rivals in the region.
